Chessie is a Quarter horse who experiences severe heel pain due to a disorder called “navicular syndrome.” This disorder is not well understood, but appears to restrict blood flow to certain areas of the horse’s heel. To make her feel better, we have fitted her with special shoes that will help her stand farther forward. We are seeing a lot of improvement already. She is moving better and is a lot more lively. What a difference a new pair of shoes can make!
